  • Chung Kim's Annual Golf Classic

    This year's golf outing, on September 11th, did not have the hugest turn out, but for those that made it, it was a wonderful event. Our webmaster, Dav, gave us his first-hand account:

    "This was the first year I have been able to attend the Classic. The morning of, I looked out the windows of my apartment and was sure the weather was going to be poor. Thankfully, by first tee off at noon, the clouds had parted, the sun came out, and the temperature was perfect. While I went into the day knowing I was one of the most inexperienced golfers, my teammates were absolutely forgiving and offered helpful advice throughout the day. (Thanks guys!) I think everyone had a relaxed and fun day. Before Saturday, I had no idea how fond Grandmaster Kim had been of the sport, let alone how popular the game is with the Koreans (notable the strongest golfers of the day) in our Tae Kwon Do family. Master Richardson was kind enough to tell me story after story as we made our way down the holes (usually trying to figure out where on earth my ball was). After our last team took their last putt, we headed over to the fitness center and were all treated to a veritable smorgasboard of Korean food Mrs. Kim had been preparing all day. While we satiated our grumbling stomaches, trophies and raffle prizes were awarded. The trophies for the tournament were really cool. Instead of just a figure of a golfer, the top of the trophies were split, holding both a figure of a golfer and a figure of a martial artist sidekicking. What a wonderful day! We hope this is an event we can grow on from year to year and that more people will be able to make it out next time."

  • Master Test

    At 5:00pm on October 2nd, following the promotion, Linda Spellious, wife of Master Spellious, tested for her 6th degree (Master) black belt. Not only did she pass her Master Test, Master (Linda) Spellious put on quite a spectacular performance of skill, control, and spirit.
